Church Overview
The square, battlemented tower and spire survive of the original 1858 church and have historically been used as a navigation aid for shipping. The rest of the building dates to 1907-8 and was designed by noted architect Peter MacGregor Chalmers, using material from the old church.
The church possesses some fine stained glass by artists including Stephen Adam and Gordon Webster. Known locally as St Columba’s or the Shore Kirk, its congregation have been linked, since 2017, with Kilmun Parish Church (St Munn’s) and Ardentinny Parish Church, the latter of which has since been closed and sold.
