Church Overview
An Episcopalian congregation was first established in Lochgilphead in 1842, a few years later architect John Henderson was contracted to build this Gothic-revival nave-and-chancel church with an arch-braced nave roof and an adjoining rectory from 1850-51. A further northern transept was added in 1888.
A further northern transept, providing an organ chamber and vestry, was built 1887-8 to house the 1876 pipe organ by William Hill & Son. The peaceful and well-maintained interior has some excellent stained glass, carved furniture and pulpit. There is also a small cemetery outside.
