Church Overview
Unique and striking example of the work of G Antonio Coia 1935. The soaring gable characterises a church of great strength. A framework of steel is encased in reinforced concrete and enveloped in red Lancashire brick with a backing of Scots clay cement bricks. Exquisite stone sculpture by Archibald Dawson, including bas relief of St Patrick blessing a child, rising from between the two doors.
