Church Overview

The parish was founded in 1973 to serve the satellite housing estate of Abronhill and the church building opened on 28th October 1976. The parish celebrates its Feast Day on 13th December each year, which is the feast day of St. Lucy, who is the patron saint for those who are blind or suffering from ailments of the eye.

The church is a simple box structure with and attached hall. The appearance of the outside was much improved with the removal of an exterior porch and the erection of suitable signage. The interior is made warm and welcoming with wooden pews and light from clerestory windows. There has been considerable upgrading in recent years especially to the parish hall and an expansion of community use of the building.
