Church Overview
Two Pictish cross-slabs found in kirkyard (one now in Orkney Museum, Kirkwall, the other in NMS) indicate that there was an 8th- century church here. The present building dates from 12th century, enlarged early 1700s and furnished with box pews, gallery and high pulpit. Restored 1993. Norse period hog-backed tombstone in the kirkyard.
