Church Overview

Built in 1829 by James Dempster of Greenock on the “site of St Michael’s church which was founded in the late 13th century.  The square 90 foot tower has corner pinnacles.  In 1956-7 the interior was reconstructed and the side galleries removed leaving a rear gallery.  Organ – Father Willis two manual of 1888.  Rebuilt in 1980 on removal to Mauchline from Strathbungo Queen’s Park Church in Glasgow.  Stained glass – Healing of the Centurion’s Son  Powells of London 1903. Memorials to contemporaries of Robert Burns and to a Covenanter, James Smith. Recently underwent new roof and upgrade inside.
