Church Overview

This simple Gothic-style church of 1876 by Robert Baldie has a neat broached spire and contains many of its original furnishings. Some fine stained glass by A Ballantine & Co, a three-light “Transfiguration” scene and two single-light windows depicting ‘Suffer the Little Children…’ and ‘I am the Good Shepherd’ . Its Wyvern electronic organ was installed in 1993.

The church opened for its first service on 15 October 1876 and was officially disjoined from it parent parish of Falkland in March 1880.  Following the union of 1929, it was briefly named Freuchie West to distinguish it from the nearby United Free Church. In 1981, it was reunited with Falkland Parish Church.
