Church Overview
Built on the site of two earlier church buildings, the first of 1595 and the second of 1620, the present Victorian Gothic church was completed in 1850 to a design by eminent architect David Bryce and gifted to the people of Falkland by Onesiphorus Tyndall Bruce, of the family of Bruce of Earlshall.
Its centre pews convert to long communion tables and it possesses some find stained glass from 1897 by the firm of Ballantine and Gardiner depicting the Nativity, the Resurrection and the Ascension of Christ. The pipe organ by Hill, Norman & Beard dates from 1923.
Falkland Parish Church is a Destination Hub on the St Margaret Pilgrim Journey. In October 2024, the congregations of Falkland Parish Church united with the congregations of Edenshead, Freuchie, Howe of Fife and Lindores Churches to form a new combined congregation to be known as Fife: Eden Tay Parish.
