Church Overview

A simple oblong kirk dating to 1838-9 with three tall windows on each side. Gabled front with gabled porch and arched bellcote at apex. The church was paid for by Archibald Douglas, the Laird of Glenfinart, who had recently purchased the estate.

The pulpit has a sounding board decorated with finials. The church contains the memorials to the men of HMS Armadillo, the wartime Royal Navy Commando Unit who trained in Ardentinny.

This church was closed by the Church of Scotland in 2019 and marketed for sale shortly thereafter. A recording of the final service can be seen here.
