Plain country kirk of 1819 given a Gothic flourish by a spiky bellcote (1891). Fine interior including a handsome Regency pulpit.

Originally built as St Thomas’s Church, Balgay Parish Church was opened for worship on 29 December 1902. Cruciform church.

Stone-built hall church with simple Gothic detailing with pointed openings throughout. Designed by John Herbertson of Glasgow, in 1832.

The present church was built in 1795 on the site of an earlier church and is an excellent example of a rural late 18th century parish church.

Present church, by James Houston & Sons of Kilbirnie, was completed 1974 following the union of Baillieston Old and Rhinsdale Churches in 1966.
