Church Overview

Sitting across the Esk from the village, this large rectangular parish church, with its bold square tower in the centre of its west wall, was built in 1822 by architect William Atkinson. The three stage tower has a battlemented parapet and square corner turrets.

Its galleried interior is lit by two tiers of Tudor-arched windows. The pulpit is in the centre of the long east wall and a large graveyard runs alongside the river.
