Church Overview
Named for the 7th century king of Northumbria who introduced Christianity there during his rule, St Oswald’s is a pretty little Gothic church with an apse and plain interior. Built in 1883, on land gifted to the church by the Cassillis Estate, its tranquil interior comfortably seats around 60-70 people.
Last reordered inside in the late 1970s, when its choir stalls, reredos and pulpit were removed and the altar was moved forward. It still has a working pipe organ by Alfred Kirkland, dating from 1892 and attached hall with toilets. Very convenient for Maybole railway station, if you find yourself with some time on your hands before the next train!
