Church Overview

Originally known as Victoria Road Church, then St Andrew’s Church, this Palladian red sandstone building was built 1902-1903 to design of William Dow as a United Free Congregational Church. Organ by Hull and Beard of Glasgow was installed in 1925, considered for many years to be the best such instrument in the town. Building transferred to the Church of Scotland in 1929, after which a series of mergers took place prior to its closure in 2010.

Purchased in 2013 by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, this Pentacostal denomination have brought the building back to life with regular weekly services and a variety of community activities and outreach projects. Check their website for more details.
