Church Overview

Beautifully situated on the banks of the River Divie, this small church was built in 1741 in a traditional 18th-century style, with a central central pulpit and galleries on three sides.

The church was substantially renovated in 1813. Its fine pipe organ was installed in 1941 at the same time as the communion table, given in memory of Flight Lieutenant Robert Bruce of Glenery, who had been killed in action that year. A row of historic collection ladles hangs in the entrance passage.

A hexagonal watch-house sits in the well-kept graveyard, a remnant of the body snatching era. The kirkyard contains mainly 18th and 19th century gravestones.

Edinkillie and Dyke Parish Churches formed a single congregation and following the closure and sale of Edinkillie, services continue at nearby Dyke.

Church Now Closed. Marketed for Sale By Church of Scotland in June 2025. Graveyard remains open to the public.
