Church Overview

The most northerly church in Britain. The present building 1993 was designed by a Shetland architect, based on a simplified form of a Norwegian wooden stave kirk. Most of the work was done by local voluntary labour. The interior beams and panelling are Scandinavian pine and the lightness, warmth and proportion of the worship area are striking. New bell turret for the 1867 bell erected in 2001.
